The Chalk Farm venue has submitted plans for a 59 room hotel adjacent to its venue.
Proposed for 155 & 157 Regent’s Park Road, the site occupies a triangular site at the nexus of Regents Park Road, Adelaide Road, and Haverstock Road and is across the road from Chalk Farm situated on the Edgware branch of the Northern Line. The developer behind the scheme is Uchaux Limited and has appointed Piercy & Company to the current scheme submitted in February and the original proposal submitted in 2019.
The scheme if appointed would replace the current building, which are pastiche replicas built in the 1980s which replace victorian era terrace and a pub dating from the late 1890s. and replace it with a building of seven floors with a shoulder element of four floors. The scheme would deliver 59 so-called “micro-rooms” with internal dimensions of 2.1m wide by 4.5m deep, with the intention that it would be used for single occupancies and short stays.
The proposal takes influences from a whole host of buildings nearby to inform the look and feel of the scheme, ranging from the brick buttresses to the external facade of the roundhouse and the faience tiles of Chalk Farm Station with moulding detail.
The revised scheme was registered with Camden Council on the 7th of March this year, with the deadline for comments passing on the 8th of July. With this in mind, a decision is likely to be made in August or September.
